We are looking for a Medical Device Safety & Vigilance Lead who is strategic, results-oriented, and proactive to join us in our Device and Digital Safety & Vigilance team, to be based preferably in our UCB offices in Braine l’Alleud, Belgium; Slough, UK or Raleigh, US. About the role The Medical Device Safety & Vigilance Lead will provide expertise in device safety risk management and vigilance, ensuring the safety profile of assigned devices is thoroughly assessed and managed. You will support strategic decisions, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and oversee safety assessments throughout the device lifecycle. Who you’ll work with You will work closely with the Device and Digital Safety & Vigilance team, partnering with cross-functional groups such as clinical, regulatory, quality and pharmacovigilance teams. You will also collaborate with external stakeholders, including patient organizations, health authorities and regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance and safety for our devices in the global market. What you’ll do Provide expert guidance on device safety and risk management. Responsible for device benefit-risk assessments. Drive the completion of device safety assessments in clinical studies. Oversee post-market surveillance and device vigilance activities to monitor product safety. Ensure regulatory compliance with global standards, including device safety and risk management. Support the Device Safety & Vigilance team, sharing expertise and best practices. Interested? For this role, we’re looking for the following education, experience, and skills MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent degree required. Significant experience in device safety and vigilance. Proven expertise in communicating device safety information. Strong knowledge of global regulations and standards governing device safety. Experience working with multidisciplinary teams as well as cross-functional projects. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
