The MDME is required to: Provide strategic direction on the delivery of undergraduate medical, postgraduate medical and postgraduate dental education in the Trust. Deliver strong and effective governance to undergraduate and postgraduate medical education within the Trust. Maintain and develop the profile of medical education and promote high quality education throughout the organisation. Develop and implement a strategy for the delivery of medical and dental education and training which supports the NHS Long Term Workforce. Work in partnership with the University of Derby to support them in their application to develop a medical school, including the co-development of a clinical curriculum, capacity planning etc. Provide oversight of the development of locally employed doctors and SAS doctors. Lead the Trust's response to external feedback/surveys and educational quality visits. Create and maintain a coherent, co-ordinated and inclusive medical education faculty. Support the Executive Chief Medical Officer in maintaining high professional standards across the organisation and in developing and implementing a strategic direction for medical professionals in the Trust.
