This is an exciting chance to join our Executive Team as Medical Director, where you will become part of the NHS Western Isles family, as one of our senior leaders. We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader, who is motivated to improve the health and wellbeing of the Western Isles community, and to deliver high-quality, safe and sustainable clinical services in a remote and island community setting. As an organisation, we are strongly committed to nurturing the wellbeing of our staff and creating a positive work environment, and there would be a strong support network for anyone taking on this role. You will be one of the Board’s principal advisors, providing specialist advice on aspects of strategic development and management of safe, effective, efficient and sustainable clinical services. You will have joint responsibility for Clinical Governance, Risk and Quality Standards (shared with the Nurse and AHP Director/COO) and represent NHS Western Isles at a Regional and National level. You will lead the Medical Team from a professional and operational perspective, including job planning, appraisal, and recruitment.
