To provide a comprehensive range of secretarial, clerical & administrative functions to the Medical Examiner Service. To act as a point of contact for the Medical Examiner Service and deal efficiently, sensitively, and effectively with direct and indirect (i.e. email, telephone, face to face) enquiries on a daily basis from all levels of clinical and non-clinical staff, both internally and externally and from bereaved families. Be responsible for dealing with requests for information from organisations such as the Coroners Office, Registrars, clinical teams and the bereaved.

Solve delegated problems logically and within the appropriate level of the post. Use judgement to undertake a preliminary assessment of content to determine the appropriate course of action and the priority for the Medical Examiner Team's attention. This will involve communication from Coroners Office, Registrars, clinical teams and the bereaved and may be emotive, distressing, or challenging. Respond to complex enquiries, providing routine and non-routine information to staff of all levels and families relating to Medical Examiner Service queries.

To sensitively provide and receive complex information using tact and adapting communication style to meet the needs of individual levels of understanding. To keep up to date with related technology to ensure maximal efficiency is achieved and systems are both modern and streamlined. To develop, implement and maintain office systems to enable the Medical Examiner Service to operate smoothly and effectively, this will include developing and maintaining databases and office procedures and liaison with other services and departments internal and external to the Trust e.g. Digital Health, Regional ME office, ICB.

To produce accurate letters, agendas, minutes, interview transcripts, and presentations as required.
