Dawley Medical Practice are looking to recruit two Part-time Medical Receptionists (16 hours and 20 hours) to join our friendly team looking after our 10,800 patients. We are looking for someone to work a regular afternoon shift pattern and be flexible to cover absences when needed. The role will include all reception patient tasks, answering telephones, sign posting, booking in patients, as well as meeting and greeting patients and visitors at the reception desk. Previous customer service experience is essential, as is attention to detail, strong literacy, numeracy and IT skills. Full comprehensive training is provided for this role. Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic, friendly and reliable medical receptionists to join The Dawley Family. The post holder will greet patients on entry to the practice and on the telephone and provide a point of communication between patients, doctors and other medical staff. Duties will involve: Dealing with all patient/visitor enquiries Using appointment systems to book appointments and recalls Explaining practice arrangements to new and temporary patients Receiving and making telephone calls, taking messages as required Ensuring consulting rooms and waiting areas are prepared and kept tidy each day Maintaining strict confidentiality at all times Job responsibilities

The medical receptionist is responsible for undertaking a wide range of reception duties and the provision of general support to the multidisciplinary team. Duties can include but are not limited to, greeting and directing patients, effective use of the appointment system, booking appointments, processing of information and assisting patients as required. To act as the central point of contact for patients, the distribution of information, messages and enquiries for the clinical team, liaising with multidisciplinary team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers. Flexibility to work outside of core office hours Qualifications

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent GCSE Mathematics & English (C or above) AMSPAR Receptionists Qualification NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or Business Administration Personal Qualities

Polite and confident Flexible and cooperative Motivated Forward thinker High levels of integrity and loyalty Sensitive and empathetic in distressing situations Ability to work under pressure Disclosure and Barring Service Check
