The Glen Medical Group currently has a vacancy for a receptionist; both full and part-time applicants will be considered. Applicants must have a good educational background, be of smart appearance, have excellent customer care skills, and a pleasant telephone manner. They should have excellent communication skills, IT skills (Emis web an advantage but not essential), and be able to multi-task in a busy but friendly environment. The ability to work under pressure is essential. Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering telephone queries, processing repeat prescriptions, and data entry, as well as scanning documents via Emis workflow. About us

The Glen Medical Group is a busy training practice with approximately 11,000 patients. We have 5 GPs, 3 trainee GPs, 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 1 Pharmacist, 3 Practice Nurses, 1 Nurse Associate, 1 TNA, and 1 Health Care Assistant. We also have various attached PCN staff such as physiotherapists, pharmacists, and social prescribers based at the practice. All of these roles are supported by our Administration/Secretarial and Reception team who play a vital part in the day-to-day running of the practice. Job responsibilities

To ensure the clinicians are able to provide an effective, efficient, and caring service to the practice population. Dealing with patients through sensible use of initiative, a flexible approach, and working to consistent high standards. Through development of skills, you will be expected to prioritize tasks effectively and efficiently. Person Specification

Experience

Patient request and complaint resolution Dealing with the public Experience within General Practice Completion of administrative processes and procedures Skills, abilities, and personal attributes

Good verbal and written communication skills Basic numeracy Ability to multi-task Common sense Logical thinking Demonstrate use of initiative Able to review/reflect and prioritize The post will require VDU eye and keyboard use, limited bending Team player Diplomatic Commitment to the role A calm approach to stressful situations Sense of urgency as appropriate Forward planning Commitment to basic Equal Opportunities Qualifications

4 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent) to include English and maths Knowledge of the NHS Good general knowledge Disclosure and Barring Service Check
