About us Inverkeithing Medical Group is a busy and well-established GP practice located in Inverkeithing, Fife. We are committed to providing high-quality healthcare to our community and are currently seeking a friendly, professional, and organised Medical Receptionist to join our team. We are the largest GP surgery in Fife with just under 19,000 patients split over 2 sites (Inverkeithing and Dalgety Bay). We provide a wide and varied General Practice service with our goal to provide exceptional care to our patients with empathy, professionalism and respect at the heart of everything we do. Join a GP practice located in South West Fife overlooking the Forth Bridges, where you'll not only play a key role in providing essential healthcare to the local community, but also enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are 2 posts available: Permanent - 31 hours per week Monday to Friday (varied start with 6.15pm finish) Fixed Term (12 months) - 30 hours per week Monday to Friday (12pm to 6pm) As a Medical Receptionist, you will be much more than just a person that answers the phone. You are the first point of contact for patients visiting or calling the practice. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the practice by managing appointments, patient queries, navigating patients to appropriate services and supporting administrative duties. Key Responsibilities: Greeting and assisting patients in a friendly and professional manner. Answering phone calls and responding to patient queries. Managing appointments, including booking, rescheduling, and cancellations. Updating and maintaining patient records on our practice management system. Ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently. Handling patient requests for prescriptions, test results, and other services. Supporting the clinical team with any additional administrative tasks as required. As the first point of contact for patients, this role requires someone who is confident dealing with the public and possesses excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and competent IT skills. You must also be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and able to prioritise your workload. You will represent the Practice to the highest standard. Skills & Experience Required: Previous experience in a medical or healthcare setting is preferred, but not essential. Strong communication skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Proficient in using computer systems and practice management software (training can be provided). A professional and compassionate approach to patient care. Why Join Us?
