We are recruiting for a Medical Secretary to provide a full medical secretary service to The Adult Eating Disorder Doctor. To be part of the Adult Eating Disorder Services’ wider admin team and to ensure high levels of service are provided at all times, across the Locality, providing service support overall when required. Main duties of the job

To provide a high quality secretarial service to the Team Doctor and his/her medical team. To maintain confidentiality at all times and sensitivity when dealing with contentious and complex information. Responsible for supply and security of prescription pads. Co-ordinate and organise action arising from correspondence and ensure prompt and efficient response, as required, by the Team Doctor and Junior Medical Support Staff. Co-ordination with other professionals, outside Agencies, legal staff, Trust staff etc. Responsible for up-to-date maintenance of diaries for the medical team. Maintain waiting list to ensure clients are seen within key target times. Attend meetings, take and transcribe minutes, follow actions notes and disseminate information as required. Qualifications & Experience

Essential criteria

RSA III Word-processing or equivalent NVQ 3 Business Administration or equivalent knowledge or experience RSA II Audio Typing or equivalent Computer literate with experience of spreadsheets and databases Desirable criteria

Previous experience working as a secretary in a clinical environment in mental health Skills & Aptitude

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure whilst remaining calm Ability to manage own workload and work independently Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative Knowledge & Abilities
