PLEASE NOTE: The start date for this post will be no earlier than May 2025. The Gastroenterology Department seeks an enthusiastic Medical Secretary to provide comprehensive support at Grantham Hospital. This post is part-time at 18.75 hours per week. We are looking for candidates who thrive in an office environment and enjoy problem solving. Responsibilities include: Dealing with urgent and routine correspondence. Typing clinic letters, medical reports, and general correspondence. Managing the Consultant's diary and arranging meetings. Handling enquiries from patients, GPs, and other stakeholders. A genuine interest in providing excellent patient care is necessary. Experience in an office environment is advantageous. Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have: Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills. Minimum of 2 GCSEs or equivalent, including English & Maths. Experience in secretarial duties. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous but not essential. Working for our organisation

Qualifications

Typing, Audio, and Word/Text Processing Skills to RSA III or equivalent. GCSE English Language Grade C or equivalent. Medical secretary qualifications. Previous Experience

Recent Medical Secretarial experience. Knowledge of medical terminology. Good written and verbal communication skills. Specific Requirements
