This would be an exciting opportunity for anybody who wishes to progress their secretarial career or somebody who is looking to build on their current Medical Secretary experience. Main duties of the job

The job holder will have extensive involvement with Clinicians and Service Managers across the Trust to ensure that patients are treated in accordance with the Trust's policy and procedures. The jobholder will also be responsible for training and supervision of secretaries, trainees or temporary staff as appropriate. The job holder will support the Team Manager in ensuring that all patient pathway management processes and co-ordination is managed in accordance with the Trust's Access Policy and other National/local targets ie Cancer, RTT etc. Job responsibilities

Qualifications

Educated to GCSE standard* Vocational qualification level 3 or equivalent Medical Secretary Diploma Advanced secretarial qualifications Experience

Previous Medical Secretarial Experience Experience in developing and implementing administrative systems, processes and procedures Line Management/supervisory experience including recruitment, appraisal, etc. Skills

Literacy and Numeracy skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task Ability to manage and prioritise a diverse workload, work without direct supervision, use own initiative, and work to tight deadlines Shorthand Knowledge

Sound knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and PowerPoint, internet, e-mail, etc. Knowledge of Patient Administration System (or equivalent system) Knowledge of Medical Terminology Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality Knowledge of primary care systems (e.g., SystmOne) Disclosure and Barring Service Check
