Dorset Healthcare are looking for enthusiastic, flexible individuals driven to provide an outstanding service and are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to join our administrative team at Christchurch Community Mental Health Team.

You will be fully supported by an experienced Team Leader and provided with all the training and tools you need to succeed in this role. You will have regular supervision, yearly appraisals, and opportunities to be creative and put your ideas forward, embedding the ethos of continuous improvement.

If you have a willingness to learn, previous secretarial experience including audio typing skills, and the skills to be successful in this role, then we want to hear from you.

You will need to be flexible to manage the workload of this busy Community Mental Health Team. We ensure our Trust's values are incorporated in everything we do, providing a patient-centered approach with their recovery and wellbeing at the forefront of our care.

The working pattern is 4 days a week from 09:00 until 17:00 with half an hour for lunch.

You will be required to provide efficient secretarial, administrative, and reception support for the team.

Your responsibilities will include: Liaising with members of the public and a variety of professionals, both in primary and secondary care services. Managing communications with patients, including those in distress, while being resilient and compassionate. Maintaining an organized work environment and motivating yourself and colleagues. Keeping RIO, the Trust's patient record system, up to date, following data protection and GDPR legislation. Providing secretarial support to the team's medics, including completing clinical correspondence and dictation, managing onward referrals, and taking minutes at various meetings.

You must have an intermediate level of audio typing skills and an understanding of Office 365, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. An outstanding telephone manner and excellent communication skills are essential for dealing with difficult patients.
