Dorset Healthcare are looking for enthusiastic, flexible and those driven to provide an outstanding service and are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary join our administrative team at Christchurch Community Mental Health Team. You will be fully supported by an experienced Team Leader, be provided with all the training and tools you need to be a success in this role. You will have regular supervision, yearly appraisals and the opportunities to be creative and put your ideas forward, embedding ethos of continuous improvement. If you have a willingness to learn, previous secretarial experience including audio typing skills, and have the skills to be a success in this role, then we want to hear from you. You will need to be flexible to manage the workload of this busy Community Mental Health Team. We adopt and ensure our Trusts values are incorporated in everything we do, by providing a patient centred approach with their recovery and wellbeing at the foremost of our care. The working pattern is 4 days a week from 09:00 until 17:00 half an hour for lunch. Main duties of the job

You will be required to provide efficient secretarial, administrative and reception support for the team. To liaise with members of the public and a variety of professionals, both in primary and secondary care services. Given the nature of this service, some patients may contact us in distress, we are looking for resilient applicants, but you will be provided the training and the skills to manage this. With a compassionate work ethos, you will thrive with the right level of support being offered by the Team Leader. You will have a solid administrative background or be an experienced secretary, and be able to multi-task and manage your time effectively. You will need an understanding of Office 365 including Outlook, Word and Excel, have an outstanding telephone manner, be able to deal with difficult patients through excellent communication skills. You will be organised, able to motivate yourself and your colleagues, be able to work to deadlines and complete tasks with the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail. You will be responsible for keeping RIO the Trusts patient record system up to date, following the data protection and GDPR legislation. You will provide secretarial support to the teams medics through the completion of clinical correspondence and dictation, onward referral management, arranging and attending as a minute taker several different types of meetings. You must have an intermediate level of audio typing skills. About us

Knowledge and skills

ECDL or equivalent Excellent and demonstrable skills in the Microsoft Office suite and use of the Internet Qualifications in Typing/Word Processing equivalent to RSA Level III typing/word processing. Job specific experience
