Our client is currently seeking a Medical Secretary to join their team where a job share structure would be considered for the right candidate.

Hours:

37.5 - Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (half hour unpaid lunch)

Salary : £11.70-£12.00 per hour

The Role:

Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Secretary with a proven health care or GP Practice background to join their busy team! You will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of secretarial and administrative tasks and the provision of administrative support to the multidisciplinary team including the processing of information (electronic and hard copy) in a timely manner, liaising with team members and external agencies such as secondary care and community service providers and using the electronic referral service (ERS).

Key Duties: Typing letters, reports and associated documentation. Liaising with external agencies such as hospitals and community services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently. Maintaining an accurate referrals database and processing referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS). Actioning all incoming email and processing calling letters. Scanning patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient's health care records. Inputting data into the patient's health care records. Processing requests for information i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitor's letters and DVLA forms. Coding data on the clinical IT system. Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately. Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as required. Producing meeting agendas and recording the minutes of meetings. Supporting reception staff, providing cover during staff absences. Completing opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota.

About You: Strong administrative experience Previous GP experience, with the use and understanding of System One. Excellent people skills, emphatic and friendly manner Effective time management and ability to prioritise changing workload. Strong IT skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Motivated and able to work with high levels of integrity at all times.
