Mental Health Advisor Are you interested in joining the number one University in Greater Manchester for student experience?

Here at the University of Bolton, we are proud of our growing reputation as a student-focused University. With our strategy of “Teaching Intensive, Research Informed, Assessment Enabled learning,” we are committed to offering our students the best experience possible. We are looking for a Mental Health Advisor to join the Student Services & Experience Directorate to deliver mental health support and undertake mental health assessments with students accessing the University Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, the Life Lounge.

Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of students, where the nature of work can be complex, rapid, and unpredictable, utilising time-limited evidenced-based interventions for a wide range of mental health difficulties. Manage the risks to self and others, when there may be no other mental health professional support available. Liaise with academic schools and relevant student-facing services in developing strategies to promote a positive student experience and improved attainment and progression for students with mental health difficulties. Undertake mental health assessments and create safety plans for students. Fulfil the role of Senior Designated Safeguarding Champion for which full training will be provided. Build strong links with NHS and other external organisations, playing a key role in coordinating a network of support services. When appropriate, share issues of concern with GPs and statutory services.

We ask a lot from our staff, but in return, you will receive a competitive benefits package including access to the Local Government Pension Scheme, an employee benefits scheme, and generous annual leave entitlement. As a small University, you will have opportunities to work with colleagues across campus to support and deliver the best student experience possible.

It is envisaged an assessment day will take place the week commencing the 3rd March 2025, with interviews the week commencing the 10th March 2025. #J-18808-Ljbffr
