Would you like to build your experience working with Complex Needs and work alongside trained therapists, counsellors and psychologists?

An outstanding specialist school for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs based in Slough is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Graduate to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with behaviour and mental health issues. Ideally, the Graduate will have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology, but other subjects will also be considered. Candidates with relevant experience will also be considered! The SEN School is in Slough and the role is full-time starting ASAP. The SEN children are aged 4 to 11 and require consistent, ongoing support to ensure they have the highest quality of care and child-centred support. Experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential. Graduates in a similar field will also be considered (e.g., Psychology, Criminology, etc.).

This is a FANTASTIC opportunity for any Psychology Graduate to work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school. You will be mentored and have the opportunity to shadow sessions and learn from them. Plus, you will gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs and Mental Health issues. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker, or SEN teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

Support children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Work alongside therapists and psychologists. Provide consistent, ongoing support to SEN children. Adapt to the varying needs of children in the classroom. Utilize initiative and resilience to manage challenging behaviour.

Requirements: Degree in Psychology, Counselling, or Criminology (other relevant degrees considered). Level 3 qualifications+ are also required. Experience working with SEN children or adults is desirable.

Position Details: Full-time, Mon-Fri 8.30am to 4pm. Salary: £80-£95 per day. ASAP Start.
