Our highly regarded specialist school in Littlehampton is looking for an enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant.

This is an important role where you will be responsible for facilitating and providing tailored emotional support to students, helping them navigate their feelings, build resilience, and develop coping strategies. As a Mental Health Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and external professionals to create a supportive and safe environment for our students.

The students at this school come from varied backgrounds, but most have had to deal with adverse childhood experiences. They have childhood trauma linked to stress and anxiety, which often impacts their ability to learn. They need an individual who will come in and be a pillar of support for them.

As a dedicated Mental Health Assistant, you will facilitate and provide individualized and tailored support and help the students work through their interventions.

You will be involved in the development of students' social skills, emotional regulation, and academic engagement through the use of therapy, all in a supportive and nurturing environment.
