We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated

Mental Health Care Assistant

to join a supportive care team in

Alford, Lincolnshire . This role involves providing vital support to an individual who experiences mental health challenges, including anxiety, sensory issues, and difficulties with daily activities. Key Responsibilities: Personal Care Support:

Assist with daily personal care tasks, including reminders for medication and encouraging personal hygiene, while ensuring the person feels supported and respected. Routine Building:

Support the individual in establishing and maintaining a structured routine, including assistance with tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and ensuring that hygiene practices are followed. Emotional Support:

Provide emotional reassurance and support in managing anxiety, helping the individual with coping strategies and offering consistent care during periods of distress. Encouraging Social Interaction:

Help promote social engagement and participation in community activities, including assisting with visits to local shops, walks, or other outings. Sensory Needs Support:

Address sensory needs and challenges related to textures, sounds, and environments. This may include supporting with clothing choices, personal space, and routines that cater to specific preferences. Promote Independence:

Encourage the individual to take part in activities they enjoy, such as cooking, organizing, or hobbies, while gently prompting and guiding them as needed. Collaborative Care:

Work closely with family members, ensuring open communication and collaborating with external professionals such as therapists, GPs, or other support services to ensure the individual's needs are met. Monitor Wellbeing:

Help track and monitor any changes in physical or mental health and provide feedback to the care team as necessary. Skills and Experience Required: Will need a driver's license with access to own vehicle Previous experience in providing mental health support or in a care setting is highly desirable. Ability to understand and respect individual sensory and emotional needs. A caring, patient, and empathetic approach, with a passion for helping individuals improve their quality of life. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be willing to undergo training and development as required.
