We are a nurse-led team that requires you to displace your skills of being fully aware of the individual needs of patients including their presence on the MHEAC. This includes managing patients’ needs in a holistic fashion, undertaking psychiatric assessments as well as ongoing monitoring of patients’ physical health. Nursing, turning lives around and improving patient's wellbeing, the reasons you looked to become a Nurse. We will empower you to work innovatively, showing a commitment to providing compassionate care and a strong desire to improve patient care. In addition to this we want to offer you; Providing day-to-day care to patients to work closely with the Liaison team, the Bed hub and Home treatment team. To be fully aware of the individual needs of patients including their presence on the MHEAC. This includes managing patients’ needs in a holistic fashion, undertaking psychiatric assessments as well as ongoing monitoring of patients’ physical health. To utilise robust and ongoing risk assessment skills in order to minimise risks to patients under our care. To facilitate the patients' journey through the MHEAC providing a therapeutic care pathway, a clean safe environment and a positive experience for our patients. To supervise more junior staff working the MHEAC and to manage rostering duties for the MHEAC. To act as a point of contact for patients who are in the MHEAC, advocating for them and communicating with professionals both from within Northwick Park Mental Health Unit and wider services as appropriate. To work in a therapeutic, client-centred way and use a range of evidence-based interventions to help promote recovery through individual or joint working with other professionals. Education and Qualifications

RMN/Diploma/Degree Evidence of continued professional development Valid UK registration with their respective professional body. Experience

Previous experience as a Band 6 clinician in an acute or community setting. Skills and knowledge

Effective communication skills both verbally and through written reports. Ability to assess complex risk and produce discharge plans to manage this. Effective leadership skills. Ability to manage complex decision making situations. Ability to organize and prioritise own workload. Ability to supervise junior staff and students. Teaching and assessing skills. Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance. Ability to work effectively in stressful and emotionally charged situations. Able to manage personal stress. Previous experience of audit and research. Ability to conduct a holistic assessment and reviews of patients in crisis. Ability to work with other teams in and outside the Trust. Expertise in particular skills and evidence of how you developed them and use them in your current role. Supervision, Line management and appraisal training. HR skills training e.g. recruitment, managing absence. Other requirements

IT skills i.e. Microsoft Word, Email, Internet, Motivated and able to motivate others, Assertive and enthusiastic. Must be able to successfully complete the PMVA and the Breakaway trainings. Caring for the people who use our services, their families and carers, and other staff. Respectful of others and genuinely treating them how you would want to be treated. Able and willing to work with service users, family and carers, and other staff in a way which empowers and supports others and makes them feel better about themselves. Able and willing to work in partnership with service users, their friends and family as well as other health care professionals.
