Main duties of the job

Band 5 nurses have a crucial role in delivering safe and effective home treatment for an identified client group and in accordance with that persons wellbeing and recovery action plan.

You will participate in the delivery of the agreed aims and objectives of the service and identify factors which may inhibit these from being achieved. You will assist in the delivery of a high standard of nursing care to service users referred to the team. You will implement agreed systems for the monitoring of effectiveness of care. You will participate in the education and management of junior staff.

Job description

Job responsibilities

We work with people who are experiencing a mental health crisis, who require extra support alongside their regular support network or who can have the same treatment provided at home that they would receive in a Mental Health Hospital.

As an integral team in the Urgent Care Pathway we work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and team members are required to work rostered shifts including weekends and nights. Due to the nature of the role you must have access to suitable transport to cover the geographical area during your shifts.

Qualifications

Essential

Registered Mental Health Nursing qualification Conforms to NMC requirements & active on NMC register

Desirable

Psychological intervention Qualification including EMDR, CBT, CBTP, Family Interventions, CAT, DBT

Experience

Essential

Experience of working with people experiencing mental health related difficulties. Experience of working with people who have difficulty in engaging with services and have complex mental health needs. Experience of assessing, planning co-ordinating and managing people with mental health problems in a community setting.

Desirable

Experience of working in community setting and making decisions autonomously.
