In a period of exciting change, South Cumbria CAMHS are looking to recruit a Band 6 RMN/RGN to their ADHD pathway. The post will be full time and will cover both our Barrow and Kendal bases. The function of the ADHD pathway is the assessment, diagnosis, initiation and titration of medication and subsequent follow-up for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. The ADHD pathway works closely with both the Crisis pathway and generic CAMHS. The role will complement our existing ADHD pathway team of a clinical lead/ Independent Non-Medical prescriber and an assistant practitioner, with an element of the role supporting supplementary prescribing. Prior attainment of the ‘Independent & Supplementary Nurse Prescriber V300’ would be an advantage; alternatively, a willingness to undertake. We are a busy, friendly service providing a range of treatment approaches to children and young people with moderate to severe and/or complex mental health difficulties. We are committed to the ongoing continuous professional development of our staff. The service operates 9am-5pm Monday to Friday and across Furness and South Lakes. A car driver is essential as is a willingness to travel between our Barrow and Kendal base as required. Main duties of the job

To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team: To take a leadership role in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well-being of young people, their families and carers. Within a systemic and holistic framework undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and therapeutic interventions to young people, their families and carers, who present to the service, including as a result of deliberate self-harm. As part of an integrated ADHD service actively liaise and support robust partnership working arrangements between the CAMHS and Adult Mental Health services and community partners and other key stakeholders involved with the child across agencies in order that an integrated package of care is developed. Provide a high level of generic skills and competencies and work towards development of areas of clinical expertise within the field of ADHD, complementing other members of the team. Education/Qualifications

First level Nursing qualification, RMN or equivalent - Information technology skills sufficient to the undertaking of the post Additional qualifications relevant to this post ENB 603 or equivalent Specific evidence based therapeutic training Knowledge

An ability to think systemically and holistically. Demonstrable knowledge and skills in evidence based needs led assessments, of highly complex and co-morbid presentations of children, young people, their families and carers. Demonstrable knowledge and skills in evidence based therapeutic interventions relevant to the needs of this client group. Demonstrable ability to communicate to clients, their families and professionals sensitive and often difficult to receive information, using various methods including verbal, non-verbal, written and presentation skills. Clinical/ Safeguarding risk assessment skills. Good knowledge of legislation, acts and developments relevant to the field of child related work. Knowledge of lone working risks and policy and procedure. Experience

Demonstrable knowledge/ understanding and experience in assessment of young people with complex mental health and/or complex needs such as ADHD/ASD. Evidence of an ability to effectively manage own workload and able to work autonomously. Working within a team and/or multi-agency arenas. Experience of working with young people who deliberately self-harm. Demonstrable leadership and change management skills.
