Job summary Are you an enthusiastic and motivated Mental Health Nurse (RMN)? Are you looking to work in a dedicated and supportive team? We are looking for a RMN to join our Older Adults Community Mental Health Team (CMHT) based at Whiteleaf Centre / Aylesbury. The post is full time; however, there is availability of part-time hours and flexible working. We are a friendly, supportive, and proactive team with a culture of high standards of care, and any successful applicant will need to be committed to maintaining this. We aim to deliver well-coordinated patient care and to share our respective skills and knowledge with one another. This role is eligible for an incentive scheme of £3,500 paid at intervals over an 18-month period. All payments are pro-rata, non-pensionable, and subject to a clawback clause. Please note that only employees external to Oxford Health NHS are eligible for this scheme. Main duties of the job Working as part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be expected to offer assessments and interventions to our patient group of older adults with mental health needs. You'll be managing a caseload of patients with a variety of mental health conditions, both functional and organic, as well as supporting our duty and triage function. The MDT is made up of Medical, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Psychology colleagues, and we highly regard one another's professional background and contribution to the care of our patients. We view supervision as fundamental to the functioning of the team both clinically and in terms of the well-being of our staff. This development role is ideal if you have experience of working in older adult mental health services and have little or no understanding of the challenges that working with this client group brings. It is also great if you have transferable skills and are motivated to learn about our client group; we would encourage you to apply. This role will require you to travel between community locations; you must therefore be comfortable with driving for work purposes and able to travel freely within the hours of the role. Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registered Professional Qualification (Mental Health Nurse) Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) portfolio Desirable Postgraduate education specifically relating to client group (Post-basic qualification in community care/research awareness/management) Experience Essential To have experience of working within a multidisciplinary team Formal/informal teaching including supervising student placements To have relevant experience in community care and have specific clinical expertise in mental health Desirable Experience of supervising and managing staff Experience of providing leadership Skills Essential To be IT literate To have excellent English verbal and written communication skills
