Mental Health Support Worker wanted in Banbury A wonderful school in Banbury is looking for a Mental Health Support Worker. The school is seeking to employ an individual who is patient, passionate about education, and looking to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable children. The role would be to start in the new year - January 2025. What you would do as a Mental Health Support Worker: The opportunity for the Mental Health Support Worker will be primarily based on supporting students in the classroom with their mental health. These students have trouble processing and regulating their emotions. This stems from childhood trauma and causes stress, anxiety, and depression. You will be involved in helping them to process and regulate their emotions. The school is looking for an individual who is patient and ideally has a passion for mental health. You will be shadowing the class teacher and providing support with general classroom duties. You will also have the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded individuals and professionals in the education and mental health field. The successful Mental Health Support Worker: The successful candidate will need to be open-minded, resilient, confident, and determined to help others. You must be flexible and able to adapt your role to fit the needs of each child. Previous experience working with children with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. A good attitude is most important, and you must be passionate about making a difference. This is a great opportunity for the successful Mental Health Assistant to gain valuable and rewarding experience making an impact while also being exposed to a variety of different teaching methods and techniques to help children with their mental health needs. You will also have the chance to shadow other professionals in the field and get a feel for other specialties. A good platform for aspiring psychologists, therapists, and counsellors still busy with their studies or individuals looking to gain experience in the classroom. You must have eligibility to work in the UK. You must have a DBS or be willing to obtain one.
