We have a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join the Mental Health team at HMP Preston, a Category B male prison in Preston city centre with a capacity of around 750.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work across inpatients and the wings, looking after mental health patients. No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment.

This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, working a variety of shifts between Monday and Sunday. This role involves working every other weekend. You will work on a weekly rota between 07:30 - 20:30. Salary:

As our new Mental Health Support Worker, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include: Work with mental health patients across the wings and the inpatients unit, looking after patients with severe mental health issues, personality disorders, etc. Be a key part of the nursing team - assisting nurses and reporting back on findings and assessments. Be responsible for bloods and ECGs. Carry out physical care as necessary. Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times. Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics. About Us

Have experience of ECGs and bloods, or be willing to undertake this training. Any experience in a prison/secure setting or hospital would be a bonus! Disclosure and Barring Service Check
