Rethink Mental Illness are hiring a Mental Health Support Worker to join our inspiring and friendly team at Gloucestershire Supported Housing, Stroud. Imagine being part of an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. We believe that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity - and that's why equity is one of our core values. Our Gloucestershire service offers independent, quality housing to tenants with mental health needs. We support people to achieve personal goals, offer emotional and practical support with day-to-day living, and help develop skills to live independently in the community in order to build a meaningful quality of life as defined by them. Overview of the Role Purpose:

Working with an allocation of tenants, you will support vulnerable individuals who experience mental ill health in promoting independence and empowering sustainment of tenancies. You will be required to assess the needs and risks of tenants and work in a person-centred and personalised manner in order to enable individuals to sustain their tenancy. It will be necessary for you to travel between sites in Stroud, so you will need access to your own transport. How You Will Make a Difference:

As a Mental Health Recovery Worker, you will support individuals in regaining confidence and engaging in social and workplace activities. You'll work closely with service users to achieve their personal goals and access necessary support on their recovery journey. Key Responsibilities:

Provide key worker support, including one-on-one assistance and liaising with other mental health agencies. Focus on individual needs, using communication, motivation, and coaching to support users in achieving their goals. Build rapport based on respect and honesty, maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct. Assist with property re-lets, processing referrals, day-to-day running of a service, and health and safety of the schemes we manage. Minimum Requirements:

Transferable life/work experience relevant to this role. Good listening skills, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn. Ability to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Charity's values. Experience in supporting people with mental illness or providing care/support services in a housing setting (paid or voluntary) is a plus. Excellent administration, organisation and planning skills. Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft applications, email and internet. We are Rethink Mental Illness, a leading charity provider of mental health services in England. We support thousands of people through our groups, services, policy, campaigns and advice and information. Our work supports us in delivering on our mission: "A better life for everyone severely affected by mental illness." It is an exciting time to join our growing charity. We are on a transformation journey, one that supports the delivery of the organisation strategy - delivering Communities that Care. Supporting employees, managers and leaders through this change is a key priority for the People function. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:

Diversity is important to us and we appreciate difference through difference, inclusiveness, and belonging. We actively encourage and welcome applications from everyone, including applicants with lived experience of mental illness, those who are LGBTQIA+, neurodiverse individuals, and people from ethnically diverse backgrounds. Benefits:

PULSE - our recognition, rewards, wellbeing, and benefits platform. Wellbeing support: our Wellbeing hub gives physical, emotional, and mental health support. Generous annual leave, starting at 25 days rising to 30 days, plus bank holidays. Contributory pension scheme. Structured Corporate Induction. £300 when you introduce a Friend.
