TeacherActive is an inclusive term-time tuition and mentoring service, providing an alternative education provision supporting children who are temporarily out of mainstream education. As a managed education service, we remain responsible for the management and quality of education provided to each of our learners.

Changing outcomes, changing lives, and re-engaging children and young people with their education is the driving force behind our work. We strive to enable a positive impact on the lives of all our learners. We nurture a supportive environment for our learners and tutors. Our team of tutors is one of our biggest assets.

Your Role at TeacherActive:

As a SEN Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering a bespoke educational plan in an engaging and meaningful way. Your responsibilities will include:

Deliver KS1-KS3 Maths and English sessions with additional subjects according to your specialism.

Provide a creative learning approach, incorporating a variety of activities based on the learners' interests to aid learning engagement.

Offer support as a mentor with life skills and facilitate preparation for adulthood, including college applications and employability.

Demonstrate confidence and knowledge in supporting children with SEND.

Adhere to consistent fixed termly timetables with scheduled lesson times.

You offer TeacherActive:

Dedication to the overall academic development of the learners and support re-engagement in learning.

Commitment to fixed termly timetables and ensuring lessons run as scheduled to provide a predictable and reliable provision which the learner deserves.

Understanding that it hasn't always been an easy path for our learners; compassion and empathy are key.

Minimum 2 years teaching or mentoring SEN learners including ASD/ASC, ADHD & SEMH within SEND schools, youth groups, or private settings.

Enhanced DBS on the DBS Update system or pay and get it processed by us (fee of £48.00).

Competent understanding of safeguarding and uphold mandatory training.

Ability to travel to outlined location.

All applicants will be contacted to discuss suitability and then invited to register with TeacherActive. Registration involves an enhanced DBS check, ID checks, and will require you to supply good professional references. We pride ourselves on excellent service. We can provide a wide range of opportunities in schools and other educational institutions, with good rates of pay, at times to suit your needs.
