Our Client is a national Building Services Consultancy employing circa 150 staff, across 8 strategically placed UK offices. For over 30 years, our client has been providing high-quality sustainable mechanical and electrical design solutions, supported by cost-effective innovative engineering packages, for the UK construction industry. Our Client is an Energy Project Management Consultancy, providing a range of vital MEP services to the high street and supermarket retail giants. As part of a larger group of companies that focus on transforming retail space, from design, installation, equipment and instore planning, to cost control and programme management, this intelligently placed Consultancy is perfectly positioned to save their customers time and money, whilst also maximising efficiency and creating industry-leading results. With energy and sustainable building design at the heart of the company, they have built an enviable reputation as one of the largest independently owned MEP design consultancies in the UK. Current and future projects include health care, leisure, education, mission critical, residential, retail, and technology, providing a diverse range of schemes for all Engineers to develop their careers and professional experience further. With the benefit of independence, empowered as a board to guide the business free from the constraints of a corporate-backed ownership group, the company is uniquely positioned for further success and sustained growth. Part of that strategy will include further regional operations, with Leeds high on the agenda to be the company's 9th regional base and spearhead business development across Yorkshire and the North East of England. With clients and projects already live in the area, the Leeds office will provide more locally based technical support to customers both new and existing. As a national organisation with a national profile, the brand is already familiar with architects and developers, which offers somewhat of a warmer soft start, building on the progress already made. Acting as an ambassador and regional lead, the appointed Director will be ultimately responsible for growing the operation, developing clients across the public and private sector, along with attending industry events and promoting the brand at all opportunities. Additional duties will include recruitment and the development of a team of Engineers, utilising your contacts to attract key hires and build a strong division capable of delivering complex schemes. As a business leader and influential member of the board, this position requires an Engineer of impeccable reputation, well networked regionally and respected by peers across the construction industry. It would be expected that all interested parties are highly qualified (CEng preferable) and technically superior, seasoned in providing executive levels of advice and collaboration across a wide range of sectors. A robust understanding of business and industry margins, along with high levels of commercial acumen, would be absolutely essential, ensuring profitable work is won and delivered to time, cost, and expectation. Applications are invited from true industry leaders from the building services community across Yorkshire and the North East, with the passion and energy to drive forward a new Leeds office to firmly establish the operation amongst the Leeds elite. A successful background in M&E design and Consulting Engineering is a must, demonstrating a successful career in client management, business development, and project delivery. Finally, the appointed candidate must align with the values of the organisation and champion a winning culture that puts their employees first.
