£43,912.80 pa + 33 days holiday per year (25 vacation + 8 bank holidays) GPW Recruitment are partnering with Ford Halewood Transmissions Ltd (FHTL) in Halewood to recruit a Metallurgy Laboratory Specialist to work in their Metallurgical laboratories to support all Halewood product lines. Ford is investing £230m into the Halewood site to produce electric power units and is the first site to manufacture EV components in Europe, in 2024 with a capacity of 420,000 units. Qualifications and Experience required by the Metallurgy Laboratory Specialist

Completed Mechanical/Electrical apprenticeship or an HNC/HND equivalent in a relevant subject. Good knowledge of measurement principles and processes. Background in metallurgy laboratory measurement preferable. Computer literacy - good knowledge of Word, Excel. Strong communication skills. The ability to read engineering drawings. Self-motivated, adaptable and willingness to learn. Proven ability to work in a Team including self-motivated and flexible. Good understanding of 5S and workplace organisation. External training will be provided to gain further experience, along with a comprehensive internal training plan. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Support commissioning of new measurement equipment. Measurement of Internal and external purchased components using laboratory equipment. Support the development of test methods and continuous improvement opportunities. Produce measurement reports for components measured. Assist with Quality investigations providing measuring support. Be able to work within a team to ensure tasks are in line with targets. On Offer as the Metallurgy Laboratory Specialist

Hours of work are Monday to Thursday 7:00-15:30 and Friday 7:00-12:30 or 3 shift: Earlies: Monday: 6.30am- 3pm Tuesday - Thursday: 7am - 3pm, Friday: 7am - 12pm Lates: Monday - Thursday: 3pm - 11pm, Friday: 12pm-5.30pm Nights: Monday - Thursday: 11pm - 7am Friday: 5.30pm - 11pm If you work shifts it's a 27.5% shift allowance.
