Catalent are currently recruiting for a Microbiology Technician to join the Microbiology team at our Swindon site.

The working hours for this role will be Saturday- Wednesday (if able to work the full weekend or Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday depending on availability to work these hours. There will be one other Microbiologist working on each day and you will not be able to have time off at the same time.

The Role:

To maintain the microbiology laboratory and stock levels including ordering as required, including the setup of standing orders. Keep records of all work in accordance with GLP, GMP and company SOPs. Provide support to Scientist 1, Scientist 2, and Senior scientist. Ensure all tasks are conducted in accordance with EH&S requirements and defined Risk and COSHH assessments. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Routine tasks and maintenance of equipment to include but not exclusively: Switching on VLF, Class II cabinet, Boiling water / bead baths. Media preparation (pH testing of media, autoclave waste & sterilisation of equipment). Collecting deliveries from goods-in, putting away and booking in. Booking in pre-prepared media. Maintenance of weekly stock culture isolates as required. Produce spreadsheet for ordering & place orders with support from Scientist 1. Preparation of logbooks, Stock rotation and archiving documents. Maintaining the correct controlled versions of SOPs and proforma in the lab. Wash Micro Glassware and use of glass washer, support chemistry washing if required. Filling out equipment logbooks. Perform In-process sample testing. The Candidate:

Team player. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. IT literate (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Power Point). Knowledge of GMP advantageous. Catalent offers rewarding opportunities to further your career!
