The North Tees and Hartlepool Foundation Trust Maternity Service is undergoing an exciting transformation. As part of these developments, we would like to invite enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced Band 6 Midwives that aspire to work collaboratively, be respectful, and empathetic towards colleagues and our service users accordingly.

We offer a comprehensive induction package and ongoing professional development to support you in your role, providing and coordinating antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care for both Midwife and Consultant led care.

We are seeking to recruit enthusiastic, innovative, experienced, and motivated Band 6 Midwives to join our team at the University Hospital of North Tees and Hartlepool Foundation Trust. This is an exciting transformational time within the service, with various new roles being put into place to support the current and future service provision.

Main duties of the job You will be expected to work autonomously within guidelines and the sphere of professional practice to implement individualised midwifery care in partnership with the women.

You will be able to provide continuity throughout the antenatal, birth, and postnatal period whilst ensuring the woman's physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs are holistically cared for.

Effective multi-disciplinary working is essential, and midwives are expected to communicate effectively to guarantee appropriate, safe care is delivered.

To participate in the design and development of new ways of working that benefit the woman and their families whilst improving the working conditions of the team.

To work as a member of the midwifery team within a multi-disciplinary environment giving care and support to women in the Hospital and Community and Birth Centre settings.

The post-holder has a defined sphere of practice and should provide motivation within a midwifery team and be a resource for knowledge and clinical expertise.

To achieve the highest possible standard of care ensuring that resources are utilised effectively and efficiently referring to the attention of the Line Manager recommendations.

To participate in the development of staff as appropriate, ensuring resources are utilised effectively and efficiently, taking responsibility for the area of practice referring and consulting with the Line Manager.

Job description Job responsibilities You will provide and coordinate antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care for both traditional and CoC midwife-led care models and consultant-led women.

Duties will include: Maintain NMC registration and ensure that Revalidation is up to date. Practice in accordance with the NMC Code and the Standards. Ensure that other NMC documents and Trust guidelines are adhered to. Maintain and develop professional knowledge and competence in accordance with NMC recommendations. Plan and provide individualised care based on careful history taking, medical and social assessment as early in pregnancy as possible. To promote and maintain standards of professional practice in order to enhance the quality of care for clients.
