Job offered by: Temple B'nai Abraham

Maternity Services are provided over 3 sites and we are able to offer women and staff the 4 birthing environments: home, freestanding birth centre, alongside birth centre, and obstetric labour ward.

The environment in the Prince Charles Site level 2 has undergone major refurbishment in 2019. We offer care to women in our obstetric unit and we have an alongside midwifery led unit. We have increased the number of pools to 3 and are able to offer, in addition, a bereavement room and generally an enhanced environment for both women and staff.

At the Royal Glamorgan Hospital, we have a free-standing midwifery led unit offering women and staff the opportunity to birth in a home away from home in a tranquil and supportive environment.

Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend is a Level 2 Maternity Unit. We are able to offer low-risk women the opportunity to labour and birth in our alongside Midwifery Led room, the Bluebell Suite, and in our newly refurbished Birthing Pool room on the obstetric unit. Our Obstetric services support women requiring increased surveillance during labour.

In addition, Midwives working within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in working in all the units and community but would like to reassure applicants that wherever possible we will accommodate their first choice of base. All contracts of employment are Health Board wide.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is part of the NHS Wales family. Our Health Board provides primary, secondary, and community health and wellbeing services to around 450,000 people living in three County Boroughs: Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, and Rhondda Cynon Taf.

We live by our core values: We listen, learn, and improve.

We treat everyone with respect.

We all work together as one team.

We are a proud local employer; around 80% of our 15,000 workforce live within our region, making our staff not only the lifeblood of our organisation but of the diverse communities that we serve.
