We are seeking an experienced and dedicated MGP (Midwifery Group Practice) Midwife to join our compassionate and supportive team Eastern Health Eastern Health is one of Melbourne’s largest public health services. About the role As an MGP Midwife, you’ll have the unique opportunity to work with pregnant people and their families, providing personalised care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postnatal journey. You’ll work across the full scope of practice, from antenatal and intrapartum care to inpatient postpartum visits and extended postnatal care. What You'll Do : Provide holistic, one-on-one care to a caseload of birthing people, building trusting relationships and offering support throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Collaborate closely with other midwives in the MGP team, alongside our multidisciplinary team (MDT), to deliver high-quality, well-rounded care. Foster an environment of shared decision-making, working with families to ensure they are informed, empowered, and active participants in their care choices. Work across the full scope of practice, including antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, to provide comprehensive, individualised support. Organisational support for midwives working towards accreditation as an AHPRA Endorsed Midwife. To be successful in this role you will possess : Excellent communication and organisational skills A proven record of providing safe, reflective, maternity care in Antenatal, Birthing, Postnatal and Extended Postnatal Care. A strong commitment to collaborative practice, working with MGP peers, medical and midwifery clinicians, and other maternity services professionals. Alignment with and dedication to Eastern Health Values, ensuring the highest standard of care and patient experience Completion of Stillbirth Centre of Research Excellence Safer Baby Bundle workshop, within the last 12 months. IV Cannulation skills / capabilities Desired skills include Accreditation as an AHPRA Endorsed Midwife or working towards obtaining this accreditation. Competence in perineal suturing, or a willingness to develop this skill Proficiency in transcervical insertion of balloon catheters for labour induction and speculum examination.
