Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking a forward-thinking, confident, and experienced full-time mixed/farm veterinary surgeon to join their friendly and committed team. Located in the stunning countryside of Cumbria, you will be part of a practice renowned for providing the highest quality care to the farms of Cumbria, Northumberland, and the Borders of Scotland.

Our client is a modern RCVS Tier 2 practice with a team of 14 vets, operating across three surgeries. The practice takes immense pride in its distinguished reputation for delivering top-notch care to both pets and farm animals. The facilities are well-equipped, including digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound, ECG, and full surgical capabilities. Regular visits from cardiology and ultrasonography specialists, as well as access to mobile CT/MRI services, ensure comprehensive and advanced diagnostics.

The practice has strong relationships with a diverse range of dairy, beef, and sheep clients, helping them achieve their goals. The client base includes 40% dairy, 15% sheep, 40% beef, 4% smallholders, and 1% equine. The team also covers work at local auction marts during sheep and bull sales, and they run a sheep club while proactively providing health plans, including full vaccination programs for many farms. Bull and ram semen testing is performed, with training provided.

The practice is led by three directors with advanced certifications: CertCHP and two CertAVP. This is an excellent opportunity for a mixed animal veterinary surgeon to join a well-established, RCVS-accredited practice in the picturesque countryside of Cumbria.

The Rota: • Full time - offering a good work/life balance • 1:4 weekend rota • Shared large-animal-only on-call rota with dedicated back-up
