Application and Interview Process As part of this process, Chief Constable Sacha Hatchett will be holding a Chief's Briefing on Monday 20th January 2025 14:00pm - 15:00pm to outline the process to prospective candidates. The session will take place in the Connolly Room at Hutton Headquarters or candidates can attend remotely via Microsoft Teams. All submitted applications will be shortlisted on Wednesday 5th February 2025. Those successful following the paper sift will be invited to undertake an interview and briefing exercise at Hutton Headquarters on either Tuesday 25th February 2025 or Wednesday 26th February 2025.
Internal applications must seek approval from their BCU Commander / Head of Department on their suitability to apply for promotion to the rank of Superintendent. The form can be found by clicking the above attachment. This can be submitted by email to Promotions@lancashire.police.uk but must contain BCU Commanders / Department Heads confirmation.
Officers on Secondment will need to gain approval from their substantive BCU Commander/ Head of Department.
Should any Officer not be supported and wish to appeal this decision; the form still needs to be returned along with your rationale for appealing the decision. This will be considered by the Head of HR and DCC Mackenzie.
Qualifications Those applicants wishing to apply for the role of Detective Superintendent must be PIP2 qualified (minimum) and have successfully completed the Management of Serious Crime Investigations Development Programme (MSCIDP). Successful candidates who are not currently PIP3 will be expected to work towards the qualification whilst in this post.
Those applicants applying for uniform Superintendent roles will be expected to already be an accredited Public Order Public Safety Silver Commander, or undertake the necessary training and qualifications to become accredited as a Public Order Public Safety Silver Commander, within 12 months of promotion.
Vetting All appointments will be subject to enhanced MV vetting.
All internal applicants will also be subject to undergo PSD checks before being invited to the interview stage of the process.
