Overall purpose of the job:

To support the southern depot transport department in the deployment of road safe and legal vehicles, operate defect repair clinics across the southern depots and deliver vehicle-based services, diagnostics, and running repairs. The role will also be expected to support the Scratchwood Maintenance team during periods of leave or high work activity. Key Responsibilities:

Operate a rotation of defect clinics across Brentwood, Borough Green, Ringmer & Croydon. Carry out servicing on owned vehicles where suitable to do so to ensure vehicles remain safe and roadworthy. Carry out emergency repairs and those identified from the Daily Check Sheets to all vehicles to ensure they are maintained in a roadworthy condition at all times. Carry out diagnostics to breakdown vehicles and support the Transport Manager in best assessing and effecting repair of those vehicles either directly or via 3 rd

party agents. Assist with roadside repairs & breakdowns where required, ensuring your own personal safety and that of other staff and members of the public at all times. Ensure all service/repair records are completed and loaded onto Truck File for document storage. Become the fleet lead for Tracker installs, to include installs to new vehicles, upgrades to existing, and support the Transport Management team in developing & improving the Webfleet system so that all HGVs download tacho data via Webfleet and all vehicles report fuel data. Ensure that the Company tools and vehicle maintenance/repair facilities are kept in good working order and that they are repaired or replaced where necessary to further ensure safe working conditions at all times. Carry out maintenance and/or repair to Company owned plant and equipment. Carry out minor repairs to hired vehicles, small plant, and equipment, where necessary. Regularly inspect and clean spare vehicles that are not in use on a given day. Carry out all general and reasonable work requests on behalf of the Company, where required. Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) where appropriate. Essential Skills:

CnG / NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance. Experience in use of range of diagnostics equipment. Experience of vehicle electronics, including installations for trackers & telematics. Experience of use of welding equipment. IT literate. Desirable Skills:

HGV Licence. IRTEC Qualified. Experience of install & repair of onboard CCTV.
