We need reliable, high-achieving, practical people who would love to train to become a Telecommunications Infrastructure Engineer and have a career in the Mobile Telecommunications industry. Helicom is a family-based company, and we pride ourselves on really looking after our staff. The company has been trading for over 5 years, now working exclusively with mobile operators such as VMO2, EE, Vodafone, and 3UK. We consider ourselves the UK's leading Small Cell maintenance and installation company in the sector. You will need to be resourceful and a good problem solver, have good communication skills, and be a team player who can also work independently at times. A good head for heights is also necessary. You will need a full driving licence for our Vans and Cherrypickers. Candidates with previous RF installation experience, with 1/2", 7/8" coax cable, and electrical experience will be looked at in depth, and an interview arranged. We are based in Burgess Hill but work all over the UK. We have maintenance and installation contracts which require us to work all over the country from the South Coast to Scotland, which involves working away during the week. The job involves travelling, which is essential! After training, you will be provided with a company vehicle and will be working away in the UK for a minimum of 10 weeks per year, plus travelling to London 3-5 days per week. Please consider commuting times and the prospect of working away from home before applying for the position. Our service and maintenance work involves structured cabling fault finding, Small Cell replacements, site maintenance, fault finding & repairs, electrical works, commissioning & supervision. Our installation work involves installing Small Cells on street furniture (providing 4&5G to the public), minor electrical works in buildings and outdoors, structured cabling installation and testing, working on MEWP's, ladders, and scaffold towers. The successful applicant will receive expert training and the skills and qualifications you will need, ultimately leading to IPAF, Electrical, NRSWA, and PASMA. If you have done that sort of work before, we would love to hear from you. If you haven’t but feel you have an aptitude for that sort of work, we will happily give you the necessary skills. Some experience in construction would be helpful. We anticipate that earnings will be between £30,000 & £35,000 per year for the first year, with future possibilities of substantial growth.
