As a BScMR accredited site, the MRI services at United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals have undergone an exciting expansion with the opening of three new purpose-built community diagnostic centres (CDC) and an additional MRI inpatient scanner on our acute site. The service offers the latest in MRI technology including AI acceleration software. As part of our recent CDC investment we have procured the newest in ROCC technology which offers innovative ways to remotely support both scanning and training across all sites. As a result, we are also working in collaboration with the Lincoln School of Radiography, who also have access to the ROCC system and will be jointly exploring piloting innovative student assessments. We have a combination of 9 static and 1 mobile MRI's state of the art Siemens and Phillips scanners. We offer a wide range of services from Arthrograms, cardiac and GA examinations to our Nationally recognised specialist paediatric work using our three new kitten scanners. At United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals we pride ourselves on role development and have an established team of Knees, Spine and Cardiac MRI reporting advanced practitioners led by our newly appointed MRI clinical specialist. This is a deferment; the candidate will start no earlier than May 2025. Main duties of the job

Working closely with the Operational team and MRI clinical specialist, this post will provide professional, operational and strategic vision/leadership for ULTH MRI services. This role will direct and construct business plans, translating and considering potential conflicts within standards, expectations and information to effect National and Local targets and service objectives. Taking responsibility for the effective and efficient running of the MRI service, this post will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service. With the operational team and MRI clinical specialist, the post holder will be responsible for the effective and efficient running of MRI across the Trust. To lead, manage and assess processes within the context of procurement, evaluation and selection of imaging equipment, including setting specifications and the writing of business cases to support service development. To direct and construct business plans, translating and considering potential conflicts within standards, expectations and information to effect National and Local targets and service objectives. To identify imaging service development opportunities through the analysis of complex patterns of service delivery and clinical developments and trends, investigating and assessing the conflicting clinical and financial constraints and outcomes of different models of healthcare delivery. Responsible for radiology services input into workforce planning within local and national recruitment programmes, taking into account and considering local and national aims and policies which are unpredictable and contain conflicting expectations and objectives. Essential Substantial experience in leading and managing diagnostic services. Substantial experience of the acute healthcare setting. Experience of implementing policy, service planning and development. Experience of budget management. Experience of service monitoring and evaluation. Experience of workforce planning, staff recruitment, development, appraisal and performance management. Experience of chairing meetings. Experience of managing complaints. Desirable Presentation of own work at conference level. Experience of organising/delivering learning opportunities at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Participation in postgraduate research. Involvement in Regional professional group. Knowledge - Skills - Aptitudes

Essential Contemporary knowledge of Diagnostic Services. Good understanding of contemporary issues for the other profession and knowledge of where to seek advice and support. Knowledge of current issues in Health and Social care. Detailed understanding of Clinical governance. Very well-developed communication skills, including effective negotiating and influencing skills. Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. Time-management skills with proven ability to meet conflicting demands, targets and deadlines. Ability to produce accurate analyses of statistical data and reports. Desirable Project management skills.
