is seeking a

Mortgage Loan Servicing Specialist I. The purpose of this role is to provide mortgage loan servicing support while developing member business relationships and maintaining third-party relationships that uphold the integrity of our brand and enhance our mortgage loan department experience. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Understands mortgage lending practices, including federal regulatory requirements, state regulations, agency, and credit union requirements. Responsible for all aspects of post-closing. Reviews closing documentation received from attorney’s office. Contacts attorney regarding corrections or omissions to closing documents. Works pending files while awaiting outstanding closing items in a timely manner. Establishes and maintains escrow accounts. Accurately tracks and pays property taxes, hazard, flood, and private mortgage insurance on time. Works with third-party vendors to collect supporting documentation. Reviews insurance cancellation letters to ensure continuous coverage on property and orders force-place insurance as necessary. Responsible for new loan setup and funding in the loan servicing system. Monitors non-escrow accounts to verify payment of local taxes. Completes annual escrow analysis and assists members with questions. Prepares Certificate of Satisfaction; forwards Note and Deed of Trust to member; and processes appropriate release of the property. Maintains files according to retention requirements. Generates notification to members with maturing draw periods on HELOC and provides disclosures on all HELOC placed in “repayment only” status. Responds to member inquiries regarding payoffs, change of owner, note modifications, beneficiaries, and other details of existing loans. Ensures compliance with all mortgage loan policies and procedures. Actively participates in all branch and staff meetings in order to maintain awareness of organizational issues, promotional campaigns, stays current on policies, procedures, compliance and makes suggestions for improvement. Works to increase knowledge, technical skills, and professional development through available internal and external sources. Works as a member of the Argent Credit Union team to ensure achievement of the credit union’s mission and goals. Maintains a professional work environment and businesslike appearance. Performs additional duties and responsibilities as deemed appropriate. Misc Comments:
