We are an independent and old-fashioned garage looking for a MOT Tester / Mechanic to join our small team.
MOTs are on Class 4 vehicles. The current team has been working together for many years.
Due to sudden illness, this role is available immediately.
The salary is negotiable.
Weekdays only.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough MOT tests on vehicles in accordance with legal requirements.
Identify and report any faults or issues found during testing.
Perform necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure vehicles pass their MOT.
Maintain accurate records of tests conducted and any work performed.
Ensure the workshop is kept clean and organized at all times.
Stay updated with current regulations and best practices in vehicle testing.
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose vehicle issues effectively.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
Capability for heavy lifting when required during vehicle repairs or maintenance.
Excellent attention to detail to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Good communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
