JOB DESCRIPTION A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 13-year-old boy living in Porth with my parents and siblings. I have a diagnosis of Autism, making communication and social interaction difficult for me. I have a good sense of humour and engage quite easily on a one-to-one basis. However, it takes me a while to feel relaxed and build up trust with someone.
PURPOSE OF JOB
The purpose of the job is to enable me to enjoy time out away from my family to gain some independence and life skills.
HOURS OF WORK
3 hours per week. Pick me up from school at 3pm, once a week. Once a month, you will work a weekend of 6 hours.
RATE OF PAY
£13.00 per hour 40p mileage allowance
TASKS INVOLVED
Taking me to places I enjoy Driving me in your car Supporting me when I’m out Ensuring my safety at all times Supporting and encouraging social engagement Supporting me to develop my communication skills Participating in activities with me
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A friendly and understanding person is important Someone outgoing and fun Someone who will put in lots of effort to get to know me You must be reliable and understand that routine is important to me.
ABOUT THE JOB
Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid every month on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holiday. The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS Check and Child Protection Training at no cost to you.
