About the role Royal Mail Property & Facilities Solutions are looking for a Site Supervisor to manage the Cleaning Operatives on four sites (Croydon Mail Centre, Gatwick Mail Centre, Medway Mail Centre and Rochester Hub), ensuring the cleaning service meets the service quality standards and customer expectations. Managing up to 20 members of staff, you will lead and control the delivery of cleaning service on dedicated customer sites ensuring standards are consistently maintained in accordance with the customer’s contractual specification. This includes building strong customer relationships, as well as looking for areas for improvement and where we can add value to our customer.

Reporting to the Soft Service Manager (SSM), you’ll assist in managing, leading, motivating and improving the performance of the Cleaning Operatives to ensure cleaning standards are achieved. Ensuring safe working practices are established for the delivery of the cleaning service and followed at all times, you’ll support the SSM in achieving Zero Harm. This is accomplished through effective supervision, communication, and development of your team, ensuring and recording the required health & safety training, toolbox talks, and messages to carry out duties in a safe manner. You will ensure that all accidents, incidents, and any breaches of safety or security are recorded and reported in accordance with the defined procedures, in conjunction with a full investigation and managing appropriate escalation to the SSM, where necessary. Creating a culture that embraces change, you’ll build customer satisfaction by communicating the benefits of any existing or new innovation in technology, cleaning methods, or products to both customers and their team. You will support the SSM in ensuring that all weekly site inspections, reports, timesheets, and requests for information are completed within the required timescales. Supporting the SSM to deliver the regional financial business plan, you’ll look to identify and drive through efficiency savings, such as reduction in surplus hours on sites, agency, overtime, absenteeism, and sickness. There may be a requirement to provide cover for the SSM when applicable (e.g. annual leave cover). Attendance Typical hours are 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday, with occasional night attendance. A degree of flexibility is required to meet operational demands. About you You need to demonstrate the following skills and experience on your CV: Experience from a soft FM service industry. Track record of managing a team of Cleaning Operatives, including managing performance by coaching, training, and developing a team. Experience of cleaning methods and standards, with a sound knowledge of H&S. The ability to build and develop relationships with key customers whilst being able to identify ways to add value and improve customer satisfaction. Due to the multi-site nature and extensive travel requirements of this role, you must be based within the Croydon, Gatwick, Medway, or Rochester area and have a full valid UK driving licence.
