Multi Skilled Engineer

in their Castleford facility. At IPL Brightgreen site based in Castleford, we combine our in depth-knowledge of recycling with our ground-breaking technology. Our goal is to repurpose plastic for the greater good. The successful candidate will: Be responsible for supporting all engineering breakdowns, diagnosing faults as soon as possible and replacement of machine parts Rectify all hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic and mechanical issues Enhance, repair and maintain all the Plant, Equipment and Services within the manufacturing facility as per the preventative maintenance schedule and update the maintenance log Assist with the installation and commission of new machinery and equipment with the support of specialist Tool Room Engineers Have involvement with improvement projects during planned downtime and identifying engineering solutions to maximise efficiency of the plant Maintain relationships with appropriate plant and services contractors/ suppliers and arrange for such suppliers to undertake the engineering works that are required through breakdowns, maintenance and project/ enhancement work Organise and maintain the job cards database Order spares / consumables required to support the engineering activities that will be undertaken in house or by a contracted company Work closely with Production, Tool Change and Tool Room teams to effectively achieve the required engineering outcome Operate within key Engineering and Health & Safety codes Any other tasks as requested by Management Desirable qualifications and experience: Displays safe and considerate working practices Have experience in fast-paced environment: subject to numerous priority changes and short-notice activity Level 3 NVQ or Equivalent in Electrical or Multi Skilled Engineering (required) GCSE Grade C and above or equivalent Maths and English (desirable) Proven working knowledge of plant maintenance and repairs including: Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and mechanical systems Ability to read and understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic drawings Ability to work under pressure in a fast-growing business and meet tight deadlines Possesses understanding of health and safety processes and safe methods of working Has the ability to work on a rotating shift pattern - continental shift Shows flexibility to work occasional overtime/holiday cover/absence
