2pm to 11pm (45 hrs) The shift pattern may vary depending on business needs, meaning the engineer could be asked to start earlier than 2pm. The engineer may be asked to work extended shift hours from 45hrs to 50 to 55 hrs depending on business needs. There will be requests made when the 5am engineer is on AL, then the shift will change to work on Saturdays to meet PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) needs as well as any urgent emergency works. Role Summary Our Client has an opportunity for an enthusiastic fully qualified Multi Skilled Engineer with 18th edition electrical knowledge to become part of their growing team. As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will be an integral part of the operations team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient running of their concrete block manufacturing equipment as well as the site. Main Duties and Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance schedules. Improve and maintain production processes or services within buildings. Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and manage people, projects, and resources. Develop, test and evaluate theoretical designs. Discuss and resolve complex problems with manufacturing areas. Liaise with contractors and sub-contractors. Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques. Plan and design new production processes. Produce details of specifications and designs. Consider the implications of issues such as cost, safety, and time restraints. Respond promptly to any reported faults or breakdowns. Liaise with other professionals, within and outside of the engineering sector. Monitor and commission plant and systems. Ensure all engineering works are carried out in accordance with company legislation. Carry out risk assessments for all engineering works as required. Support and mentor engineers as required. Draft electrical installation plans and technical diagrams. Install, maintain, modify, and repair all electrical systems in both the offices and factory buildings. Survey buildings where electrical systems are installed. Ensure that electrical systems adhere to national electrical safety standards and regulations. Supervise ongoing electrical system installations and provide technical expertise to the maintenance team where needed. Use blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete projects. Complete work orders and record materials used on the job. Identify electrical problems and repair them. Advise the company's management on when to replace aged electrical equipment to prevent hazards. Conduct general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshoot electrical issues with testing equipment. Help maintain mechanical/pneumatic/hydraulic systems within the factory. Any other reasonable duties that are required by the company. Training Provided Ongoing training, support, and development. Other training provided in-house and off-site. Welding training. Grab truck training. Forklift training. Lobo/Erecting scaffolding training. Block machine training. Bander training. What you will need: Fully qualified, 2365/2357 or equivalent. 18th edition. ECS Gold Card (not essential). Testing and Inspection 2392 or equivalent. Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems would be an advantage. Ability to work in a team and communicate with back-office staff. Organised and a good timekeeper. Additional Notes: The engineer will need to be flexible to cover annual leaves between the hours of 5am and 3am the next morning but will be within the 45hrs. Prior notice will be given and discussions had. There will be times where the engineer may need to stay longer due to unexpected major breakdowns as well as business needs/demands which may result in longer shifts.
