We are currently seeking a highly motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer with an Electrical Bias to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in maintaining our production machinery to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance. Key Responsibilities: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), fault-finding, and breakdown repairs on electrical and mechanical systems, including printing and binding equipment. Diagnose and repair electrical faults on machinery and control systems. Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, drives, sensors, motors, and other electrical components. Assist with mechanical repairs, such as conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and bearings when required. Perform reactive maintenance to minimize production downtime. Participate in machine upgrades, installations, and improvement projects. Maintain accurate records of maintenance work using the company’s maintenance management system. Ensure adherence to Health & Safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe working environment. Work closely with the production team to identify and resolve issues effectively. Assist in developing and improving maintenance strategies and processes. Provide technical support and training to colleagues as required. Skills and Experience Required: Essential: Time-served or NVQ Level 3 qualified in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, with a strong electrical bias in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Excellent understanding of electrical systems, including control panels, PLCs, motors, drives, and fault-finding techniques. Basic mechanical skills with the ability to handle routine mechanical tasks (hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.). Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Familiarity with maintenance documentation processes. Good knowledge of Health & Safety regulations. Desirable: Experience in the printing or packaging industry. 18th Edition Wiring Regulations. Experience with B & R or similar PLC systems. Ability to undertake machine modifications and upgrades. Personal Attributes: Self-motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance and repairs. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced environment. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
