Salary range: Up to £44,000 depending on experience. Shift pattern: 5 days per week (working on a 3 week shift rotation) 2 weeks on days, 1 week on evenings. Hours: 40 Contract type: Permanent. Your ability to understand electrical and mechanical drawings will mean you can respond promptly to machinery breakdowns, diagnosing problems, and performing repairs quickly and efficiently. Keeping accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance schedules, repairs, and spare parts inventory is second nature to you. You will get to demonstrate real pride in your work, you will feel a great sense of achievement in helping identify opportunities for process improvements and provide technical expertise to enhance the factory’s daily productivity. Main responsibilities: To ensure all equipment is maintained to guarantee personal and operator safety To assist the Head of Engineering/Team Leader to plan work and systems so that the equipment/machinery is maintained to agreed standards and within agreed timescales To ensure the correct procedure is followed when ordering and replacing equipment To ensure all records are kept up to date, engineering Data base, engineering work sheets and permits to work Assist the Engineering Manager/Team Leader with coaching and training of staff ensuring that correct techniques and procedures are followed Ensure that the Vitacress safety image is reflected positively through your actions Take responsibility for ensuring that plant and equipment is maintained and fit for purpose Ensure that safety initiatives are implemented within your areas of control. To ensure that equipment and machinery breakdowns are efficiently rectified to ensure maximum equipment uptime The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, experience working in an engineering maintenance position, strong electrical and mechanical understanding to fault find, understanding of pneumatic control, a recognised engineering qualification through a training programme e.g. apprenticeship or graduate scheme and is a strong team player. If you are from an FMCG industry background this would be desirable but not essential for the role.
