Job Summary
To carry out Planned, Preventative and Reactive maintenance on complex, Mechanical, electro/Mechanical systems and process equipment, within a pharmaceutical environment, that includes Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls.
Job Specifics
Work within regulatory requirements.
Process knowledge – relating to WI’s, SOP’s, and Manufacturing Records.
Create and deliver standard work W/I’s, SOP’s, SPL’s, etc., where appropriate.
Maintain and repair the equipment to validated specification.
Evaluate breakdowns and stoppages and communicate in a timely manner.
Demonstrate sound fault-finding diagnostic ability (Use fault-finding tools ie Fishbone, 5 Whys, C&E, etc.).
Identify root cause and provide solutions to issues working with relevant resources to resolve.
Support setup and changeover of production process equipment.
Sanitization and cleaning of production equipment to validated procedures (if required).
Maintain equipment and assets in a safe, compliant, and reliable order.
Complete criticality assessments and reliability assessments.
Deliver equipment/process improvements.
Reduce MTTR and increase MTBF (Identify root cause and implement corrective measures).
Use downtime data to identify downtime issues and opportunities to improve.
Develop operator skills in respect to equipment operation – (Autonomous maintenance) equipment process knowledge coach and support.
Provide technical advice and solutions for equipment issues.
Be willing and able to coach others (Techs, Operators, and Team Leaders) and develop understanding of others in equipment use and issues.
Use predictive maintenance tools and techniques to reduce equipment breakdown.
Provide “hands-on” engineering support within the value streams.
Complete and maintain GMP documentation in line with Current Good Manufacturing Practice.
Coach and promote “Best Engineering Practices” within the work group.
Knowledge and Skills
Multi-skilled (Mechanical and/or Electrical) engineer who can demonstrate a strong understanding of Process Packaging and Process Manufacturing equipment.
You will have knowledge of and have worked with equipment using Servo drives, PLC, and HMI interfaces.
Demonstrate excellent fault-finding techniques and be able to diagnose and repair failures of Process/Packaging equipment.
Able to complete preventative maintenance programs to current regulatory requirements regarding Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and engineering legislation.
Qualifications
BTEC ONC or C&G Technician or equivalent.
Apprentice trained (with applicable vocational qualifications).
