To provide a professional administrative and reception service to the Practice. The post holder will be part of a small team, with a varied role across administration and reception and will be required to work in multiple teams requiring a high level of initiative and decision making within limited parameters. The post holder will ensure excellent communication skills, good record keeping, read coding, summarising and other administrative duties, reception duties. Main duties of the job

To work in reception answering incoming calls from patients and other care providers alike. To book patient appointments via our system and external providers. Undertake all administrative tasks set out by the operations lead and practice manager. Ensure that appropriate correspondence, reports, results etc., are recorded, actioned and stored. To work in reception and manage incoming and outgoing calls from both patients and other care providers alike. Ensure that appropriate correspondence, reports, results etc., are recorded, actioned and stored in accordance with Practice protocol and the Data Protection Act 2018. Support seasonal and various health campaigns to increase patient uptake. Provide support to the administrative team and wider Practice as and when needed. To monitor, and amend where required patient records to ensure records are kept up to date, this will include; updating personal details, coding to update the medical care record, asking patients for information opportunistically when they are on the phone. Keep up to date with changes to QOF as required. Communicate effectively by competent use of email, telephone, written and face-to-face communication according to guidelines and customer care standards. Ensuring timely and accurate handling of messages/tasks, ensuring all unresolved or urgent matters are prioritised. The post holder has access to confidential patient information and will, therefore need to have a working knowledge and adhere to all aspects of information governance, data protection and confidentiality policies. Ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times. The post holder will need to check patient details against a range of data sets to ensure a high level of data quality. The post holder will work with little supervision, prioritising and managing his or her own workload on a day-to-day basis. Person Specification

GCSE grade A to C English and Maths Business Administration NVQ or equivalent Disclosure and Barring Service Check
