This is an exciting opportunity for a team member to work as First Contact Practitioner within local Cambridge Clinics. We have an established team of First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioners working across Cambridge.

We are supported by a Consultant Physiotherapist and FCP Clinical Lead who provide supervision and support to gain roadmap completion.

Please note this advert is for 8.25 hours only at present. Subject to staffing changes there may be an opportunity to increase these hours in the future.

This post is a secondment to cover maternity leave until November 2025, but may end sooner should the person return to work before this time frame.

Main duties of the job This role will be part of delivering services within Primary Care to PCN's as First Contact Practitioners with potential to support other MSK Services within Cambridge University Hospital Physiotherapy Outpatient Department.

You will have proven knowledge and skills in the management of musculoskeletal therapy and be expected to lead in service development and evaluation, and staff appraisal, as well as manage a caseload of patients.

The team is friendly and dedicated towards the delivery of an excellent service for all our users, as well as constantly looking at better ways to provide a service. The team is also well supported by access to Specialists in Pain, Pelvic Health, Paediatrics, Neurology and Exercise Rehabilitation.

You will be strongly supported in learning new skills and gaining additional training, including the requirements for the First Contact Practitioner roadmap.

To perform highly specialist physiotherapeutic assessment and analysis of medical investigations of patients presenting with musculoskeletal conditions.

To triage patients on behalf of Physiotherapy and may include onward referrals to other specialities as appropriate.

To act as a source of expertise on the physiotherapeutic management of Musculoskeletal conditions.

To undertake management of the Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy / FCP Team, including co-coordinating workloads, delegating duties, appraising and mentoring and recruitment and selection.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Diploma / Degree in Physiotherapy State Registration Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses / CPD Evidence of MSc level qualification / working towards / completion of single modules

Desirable Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Relevant validated clinical courses Involvement in special interest groups Evidence of completion / undertaking of FCP (First Contact Physiotherapy) training / modules

Experience Essential Significant postgraduate experience Relevant clinical work at senior level providing a broad range of experience Experience of working as part of an MDT Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff or students or assistants Musculoskeletal experience
