The National Account Executive will report into the National Account Manager under the leadership of the Head of Sales, tasked with building on current business growth within the Key Accounts, Regional Groups, and National Accounts channel to get to the next level of distribution and volume. Focusing on core business brands, the key strategy will be volume growth within the existing customers and driving new business across the UK Nationals On Trade that sit outside of the current National Account Manager’s scope. Helping identify and nurture the next wave of national and regional groups, bringing a strong network of regional and national customers to the table. Brand Sales with the business, working in a dynamic and commercial environment on a target and goal basis. Displaying the aptitude to identify and seek out profitable opportunities. Targeting new listings to drive growth across the portfolio that are brand appropriate, viable, sustainable, and commercially rewarding for the company and brand owners. The role will also require picking up a handful of key independent outlets within the Birmingham region for On Trade coverage. An ambassadorial role, supporting the National Account Manager, becoming the trade-recognized face of the business and the agencies it represents within the customer base. Working closely with the Marketing team to instigate and implement marketing activations and events with customers against an agreed budget, including trade and consumer support to drive ROS and Advocacy. Effective communication and interpersonal skills will be key to success in this role. Recognizing the importance of relationships and working hard to build them. Enthusiastic about spirits, knowledgeable about cocktails, with in-depth knowledge of the National Accounts arena, yet can stand back and make a strategic difference. Positive, proactive participation within a result-driven team by displaying an entrepreneurial, “can do” attitude. Being able to flourish in a small company environment, where doing and achieving goals is highly prized. Responsibilities
Gain KPI level pouring/cocktail/listing agreements across the portfolio of spirits. Deliver budgeted sales volume by securing listings against an identified customer target list. Management of customer P&Ls, ensuring contracts are profitable and sustainable. Understanding and delivering commercial agreements and plans with key customers across the On Trade. Identifying future areas of growth. Establishing and profitably building relationships with head office decision-makers and at outlet level in key outlets. Support wholesalers: build relationships and knowledge within their sales team to support business endeavors. Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the customers within the channel. Implement and deliver training programs across the portfolio. Execution of brand plan within trade, implementation of promotional activities. Keep the Company one step ahead of the competition by feeding back brand and market intelligence. Champion and articulate brand portfolio USP’s to internal and external key customers. Accompanied market visits, from time to time, to demonstrate to brand owners our successes. Update Customer Agreement Forms, so pricing and investment structures are known. Plan and effectively prioritize tasks to ensure maximum coverage. Work effectively with Account Managers in the business to increase distribution. Skills and Experience
An understanding of the UK spirits market and current trends in the on trade. A solid understanding of commercials and ROI. A self-starter who thrives on being given their own space to develop effective business plans. Experience of having existing relationships with customers in this channel and awareness of the opportunities to be explored. Brilliant knowledge of potential customers. A team player with the confidence to offer solutions at all times. Sales driven but with a clear desire to work with brands. A flexible approach to working within a team. Demonstrate an exceptional level of passion and knowledge for spirits, including knowledge of production methods and raw materials involved with spirits. Customer relationship management and joint planning ability. Delivered success in On-Trade sales in Spirits. Sales experience within the alcohol industry and proven ability to build account plans. Experience of working with wholesalers and/or retailers. Experience of working with brands as well as customers. Delivering brand training.
