They are looking to recruit a motivated, enthusiastic and driven Engineering Projects Manager to lead a team of 12-16 field-based engineers. This is a fantastic opportunity to make an impact and be visible within the business. Reporting into the Head of Engineering you will have full responsibility for all projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Managing a team of highly skilled Project Engineers this is a role for a proven leader in Project Engineering who has the desire and potential to deliver against multiple objectives across their UK based sites. Playing a key role in managing £multi-million budgets and devising long-term investment strategies you will be a highly visible part of the senior management team, above and beyond this you will also have the potential to progress and develop your career further within this international market-leading organisation. The Role

Lead, coach & develop a national team of multi-disciplined Project Engineers, ensuring their workload & priorities are carefully balanced. Identify risk & continually monitor the business need for specific engineering projects in the immediate-term, and over a 10-year window. Plan, prioritise & justify the annual Engineering Capex Projects Programme, once approved ensure the projects are delivered within the agreed budget parameters. Accountable for Risk Management & Delivery of the Projects Programme in compliance with Company procedures, UK legislation, Industry Standards & HSE expectations. Present Projects Programme activity & forecasts to the UK Engineering Programme Steerco & executive teams, whilst identifying and assessing any need for change. Develop & implement procedures to maximise Projects Team effectiveness and coordination with Project Stakeholders. Challenge & improve ineffective processes, having a key focus on continuous improvement. Formulate & implement strategies for Projects Delivery & Engineer Resource. Ensure the Projects Team has suitable & sufficient resources, training, skills and competence, across short and long-term needs. Accountable for the safe, efficient, legal & sustainable delivery of bespoke engineering projects. Accountable for completed projects having inherent & appropriate levels of Process Safety. Intervene where necessary to solve project management problems and remove roadblocks. Provide Technical Expertise and support to Project Engineers and the wider business. Critically appraise proposals, identify risk, solve problems & offer technical solutions to complex engineering issues. Seek out technical & procedural innovation and develop best practice. Deliver safety, compliance, reliability, capacity & productivity benefits to all operational sites. Provide technical/managerial support to colleagues across the leadership teams & influence broader business strategies. The Person

Degree educated, preferably MEng, or equivalent, in an Engineering discipline, preferably with Chartered status. Project & Programme Management expertise is essential, ideally with a Project Management qualification. Project & Operational experience in a hazardous or highly regulated environment. Budgeting, cost control and reporting. NEBOSH National General Certificate is desirable. Experience of successfully delivering multiple and multi-disciplined Engineering Projects involving external contractors focusing on successful collaboration. Experience in development and leadership of Project Delivery Teams, ensuring team members are well organised, motivated and clear on objective deliverables. Thorough knowledge of Engineering Principles, Safety Management, & Quality Assurance systems. Expertise in relevant Industry, British and European Standards. Highly IT literate, preferably with experience of project planning tools, MS Office & AutoCAD. Line management, coaching & mentoring, across a geographically wide base. Ability to communicate with people at all levels. Results focussed, with the ability to manage multiple resources.
