We are seeking a passionate and experienced professional to lead our Health and Safety (H&S) function at Humes. This pivotal role involves steering our zeroHarm aspirations, driving the execution of our H&S strategy, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, and facilitating the achievement of business unit safety plans and targets. You will provide strategic leadership, support, and accountability across the organisation, ensuring the integration of fit-for-purpose SHE systems and robust auditing processes that instil confidence at all levels—from line leaders to the Board and Executive Committee (ExCo). Responsibilities:

Developing strategic and tactical plans for the H&S function in conjunction with the Executive Committee (ExCo) and LafargeHolcim Global requirements. Executing plans as they relate to the function with comprehensive leadership of the activity, including prioritisation of key issues. Matching resources to the requirements of the H&S Strategy in line with changing business needs and priorities. Demonstrating effective leadership and delegation of tasks. Providing input into the business unit H&S plans in line with the Holcim Australia and New Zealand H&S strategy. Ensuring decision-making processes and accountabilities are clear and fully integrated within the function. Providing policy updates and their effective documentation. Providing training as required. Assisting the EGM HR, Chief Executive Officer, and General Counsel/Company Secretary in meeting Holcim Australia's corporate governance and legal obligations with regard to H&S. Preparing H&S elements for Board SHE Committee and working with the EGM HR and Company Secretary/General Counsel in planning the SHE Committee Meeting agenda. Initiating and integrating LafargeHolcim Global policies into Holcim Australia and New Zealand's current H&S practices. Maintaining constructive and open relationships with LafargeHolcim Group and Regional H&S counterparts. About You:

To excel in this role, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferred). Experience in a similar or related industry (highly desirable). Solid experience in the H&S area at both strategic and operational levels. Experience implementing strategy within large and complex H&S functions. Experience in successfully leading a senior team with a demonstrated track record of success. Advanced consultation and negotiation skills. Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills. Proven ability to lead change initiatives. Experienced in working within a fluid environment with rapidly changing priorities. Exceptional communication skills and ability to influence a range of stakeholders both internal and external. Excellent leadership skills and proven ability to enhance team performance and capability. High proficiency in Word and Excel, capability to learn and use new computer programs, medium proficiency in PowerPoint.
